Squish

More spleen-venting of the saurian kind. A follow-up to the T. rex in the 'Soul of Gentleness' series.

It alarms me slightly to think of the extent to which this series might possibly grow.

Off the top of my head, a diplodocid could whip someone w/its tail, a eudromaeosaur could eat someone alive RPR-style &/or a therizinosaur could spear someone w/its claws (the way it does at about 36:48: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slUR2St-mFM&feature=player_embedded ). & don't get me started on all the ornithischian possibilities.

BTW, what exactly did those DA ppl do to make you feel this way? I read the 1st part of this series, but I didn't completely follow.

    1. Haha, this one wasn't prompted by any dA goings on. In fact, what I said about dA on the previous one is only tangential*. These could be any objectionable people you care to name. As I said elsewhere, 'there are too many people in the world deserving of this of late'.

A diplodocid is already in the works as we speak. I have also added a human-swallowing Hatzegopteryx to the list at the suggestion of a friend. You've provided some more sterling ones!

I need to find time to watch this documentary. I watched the first few minutes and there are a few commendable things among the less so. The (carnivorous?!) Therizinosaurus sequence, however, is definitely the latter. I'm surprised it hadn't vanished into the forest with ninja-like powers as soon as the Tarbosaurus managed to right itself again. But for the purposes of this series, the spearing is perfect...

    2. (*Oh, and to further shed some light on my mutterings on the T. rex piece: one of my most unendurable gripes is when people confound illustration with 'fan art', especially narrative illustration, on the grounds that the writing/narrative work of choice is not one's own creation. It's grotesquely saddening that fan art has become the sole frame of reference and a catch-all category, and that some people simply have little to no concept of Illustration.

    3. "The (carnivorous?!) Therizinosaurus"

Keep in mind that this is a 2-part doc. In the 1st part ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbKY6ksNXtQ&feature=relmfu ), the Therizinosaurus was eating plants, so I'm guessing it was just taking advantage of the extra protein that was stupid enough to run right into it.

"I'm surprised it hadn't vanished into the forest with ninja-like powers"

That's crazy talk. Everyone knows that Therizinosaurus did Tai Chi. ;)
